Helen Bush
Registered Clinical Psychologist



Helen is a registered senior Clinical Psychologist with 30 years of experience and expertise in psychology and psychotherapy. She is known for her supportive, respectful and compassionate client-centred approach.    

Helen has extensive post-graduate training both in New Zealand and overseas, having studied at various specialist treatment clinics internationally, and she feels fortunate to have learned from some of the great therapists of our time. She now works in private practice in New Zealand.  

Helen uses various evidence based approaches, adapting the most effective of these according to each client's individual goals, needs and preferences. She is trained and experienced in supportive psychotherapy, solution focused therapies, mindfulness, EMDR for trauma (advanced), CBT, Mindfulness-Integration Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP).

Helen works in an inclusive and respectful manner. She considers the fundamental component of her work to be empathic attunement. Her approach has been influenced by the wisdom, experience and interpersonal style of a number of valued teachers and highly skilled clinicians across several countries covering various perspectives and methods.
